What you will be doing:

 

Our nationwide team of sales representatives work closely with architectural professionals advising on the design and specification of door openings. This is accomplished through Openings Studio, our award-winning BIM software used to specify 3D doors, hardware and access control. In this role, you can picture yourself as a vital team member to the architect and design team. You will be given the freedom to navigate your path to achieve success in the market. Your goal will be to drive positive, sustaining relationships with key influencers and to create brand demand through educating, facilitating, and promoting ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions. You can expect to be part of a diverse and talented sales team with colleagues dedicated to mutual support and success.

 

Key areas you will contribute to in this role include:

 

  • Drive specification‑led sales growth by developing and managing strategic relationships with architects, designers and other decision makers.
  • Generate sales opportunities by positioning ASSA ABLOY door, hardware, and access control solutions early in the design phase and maintain specification preference through project completion.
  • Identify, secure, and protect door and hardware specifications that create sustainable competitive advantages.
  • Actively manage a pipeline of specification‑driven opportunities, influencing project outcomes from design inception through bidding, award, and installation.
  • Deliver timely, accurate deliverables and technical guidance that enable design teams to specify ASSA ABLOY solutions with confidence and consistency.
  • Execute targeted continuing education (CEU) programs as a demand‑generation tool to increase product awareness, strengthen firm‑level relationships, and open new opportunities.
  • Lead product substitution, approval, and value‑engineering efforts during bidding and reduce the risk of product displacement.
  • Collaborate with distribution partners, sales representatives, and internal teams to ensure specifications are converted to successful orders.
  • Utilize Salesforce.com to track customer engagement, manage opportunities, forecast opportunity activity.

 

What you will be doing:

 

  • You will work alongside a committed team of professionals who are focused on providing specification support and services to many of the top architectural firms in the country. 
  • You will serve as the point-of-contact for the architect's education, specification, client satisfaction and technical support needs. 
  • Manage architectural development and project tracking to position our internal team of specification writers to include ASSA ABLOY’s products within Division 08 specifications. 
  • Ensure alignment and approvals to support specification-driven sales.
  • You will promote adoption of the Openings Studio BIM tool and present project proposals for value-added professional services.

  • Ability to travel within an assigned territory and meet the requirements of customers.
  • Ability to perform responsibilities both in a home office environment or while traveling.
  • You can lift/carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for sale presentations.

 

Education and/or experience:

 

  • Your background includes a College/University degree (preference for specialization in related curricula such as architectural, design/engineering/drafting, construction science/management, business, or similar), or have work experience commensurate with, minimum high school/GED diploma.
  • At least 2-3 years’ industry related experience in architectural representation, specification writing, or Design-Build construction management, will be considered in lieu of degree.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.
  • Utilization and maintenance of CRM tools for sales and activity reporting.
  • Working knowledge of industry-related software is a plus.

 

This position will be performed from the New York City metropolitan area.

 

The annualized salary for this role is $90K - $130K. The final pay offered to the successful candidate will depend on experience, skill level, and other qualifications for the role.  Benefits and additional compensation offered for this position are
