We’re looking for Purchasing Officer to join our Spence Doors team based in Forest Glen, QLD.
What You'll Do
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for day-to-day purchasing activities and will work with operations to ensure that all purchasing activities adhere to ASSA ABLOY Door Group policies and procedures. Further, you will be responsible for:
- Maintaining updated purchasing records, data, and pricing in the system.
- Handling and monitoring of claims to the factory and vendors for defectives, shortages, and missing parts.
- Assisting with sourcing and selecting the best purchase package in terms of quality, price, terms, delivery, and service with suppliers.
- Managing inventory levels of materials or products in liaison with operations and budget requirements.
- Reconciling creditor invoices with purchase orders to make sure that contracts and prices are as agreed.
- Working intimately with production and sales teams on upcoming products and manufacturing techniques.
- Preparing production work orders in accordance with site specifications and legal certifications.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Purchasing Officer.
- Experience in the manufacturing industry is preferred.
- Strong negotiating skills and the ability to build effective supplier relationships.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel.
- Good knowledge of procurement software and tools.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to think creatively to identify opportunities for improvement.
