Training Co-ordinator

About Us

ASSA ABLOY is the global leader in access solutions, trusted in over 70 countries to deliver smart, secure and seamless experiences. Our iconic brands, including Lockwood, Yale, Whitco and ABLOY, are trusted across homes, businesses and public spaces.

From advanced digital locking solutions to high-performance door and window hardware, our locally manufactured and globally backed products set the benchmark for innovation, reliability and performance.

About the Role

This role exists to ensure employees across our manufacturing operations have the skills, knowledge and capability required to perform safely, confidently and effectively.

You'll take ownership of training and competency frameworks, learning systems and workforce capability programs, helping create a culture where continuous learning is embedded into daily operations. Working closely with operational leaders, HR and key stakeholders, you'll identify capability needs, coordinate training initiatives and monitor workforce competency across the business.

You'll lead the coordination and continuous improvement of training and competency initiatives across manufacturing operations, including:

  • Develop and maintain training and competency frameworks that support operational capability and business needs.
  • Manage and continuously improve the employee training management system (ETMS), driving adoption and effectiveness.
  • Identify training priorities through skills gap analysis, competency assessments and stakeholder engagement.
  • Create and maintain learning materials, work instructions, standard operating procedures and training guides.
  • Coordinate training requirements associated with new equipment, processes and operational changes.
  • Lead competency assessment programs and maintain skills matrices across operational teams.
  • Coach and support leaders in effective team training practices using a train-the-trainer approach.
  • Monitor, track and report on training completion, compliance requirements and workforce capability metrics.

About You

You're someone who genuinely enjoys helping people learn, develop and succeed. You can see both the big picture and the operational detail required to build effective training programs that stick.

You'll be comfortable working with a wide range of stakeholders, from frontline team leaders through to senior operational leaders, and know how to influence positive outcomes through collaboration rather than authority.

Organised, proactive and practical in your approach, you're equally comfortable analysing capability data, improving systems and delivering training in a hands-on operational environment.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience coordinating training, learning and development, competency management or workforce capability programs.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing or managing a learning management system or training management platform.
  • Background working within manufacturing, production, industrial or operational environments.
  • Experience developing and maintaining skills matrices and competency frameworks.
  • Strong capability in creating training materials, procedures and learning resources.
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office and learning management platforms.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing demands.

We are the ASSA ABLOY Group
Our people have made us the global leader in access solutions. In return, we open doors for them wherever they go. With nearly 63,000 colleagues in more than 70 different countries, we help billions of people experience a more open world. Our innovations make all sorts of spaces – physical and virtual – safer, more secure, and easier to access.

As an employer, we value results – not titles, or backgrounds. We empower our people to build their career around their aspirations and our ambitions – supporting them with regular feedback, training, and development opportunities. Our colleagues think broadly about where they can make the most impact, and we encourage them to grow their role locally, regionally, or even internationally.

As we welcome new people on board, it’s important to us to have diverse, inclusive teams, and we value different perspectives and experiences.
