As a Software Quality Assurance Engineer within SQuADS, you will be responsible for testing solutions (internal, and 3rd party) ensuring fit for use, and fit for purpose. You will need to liaise with the Software Development (SD) function, DevOps, and third parties as required. You will be working independently, however there will be opportunities to collaborate with the lager global team and key stakeholders within HID Global.

As our Software Quality Assurance Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

  • Being strategic and working independently to perform duties
  • Creating test plans/scripts from use cases, user stories, functional specifications.
  • Testing to make sure products are fit for purpose (meets required functionality, compliance, and capacity) and is fit for use from a usability perspective.
  • Investigating and clearly articulate the problem definitions when bugs/issues found.
  • Liaising with other functions such as SD team.
  • Creating training material such as videos and user guides.
  • Providing training to end users, and knowledge sharing internally.
  • Leading Operational Acceptance Testing, Site Acceptance Testing, User Acceptance Testing, and finally Customer Acceptance Testing.
  • Providing Tier1 early life support for operator related issues post go-live.

Your Experience and Education include:         

  • Higher level education in software engineering or computer science, or have equivalent experience (minimum two years of experience)
  • Basic knowledge of SQL and/or Oracle scripting is desirable; 
  • Experience with at least two test/bug-logging tools, the others can be picked up gained through exposure on-the-job, and more formal training as required for each project, such as:
  • Azure DevOps
  • AutoIT
  • MT Test
  • Jmeter
  • LINQPad
  • ANTS Memory Profiler
  • Postman
  • Selenium
  • Unified Functional Testing
  • Visual Studio
  • Visual Studio Code
  • Jenkins.
