Working as an HID EAT RFID Professional Services Staff Firmware Engineer, you will be a key contributor in a dynamic and rapidly growing business segment. The individual will play an integral role in the creation of POCs, Demos, and support for our Innovation team. You will be an interface between the customer facing and product facing teams and support escalated field issues that require engineering investigation. The individual will work closely with our tech support and engineering teams to analyze and solve technical issues.

As our Staff Firmware Engineer, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

 

  • Representing the company as the technical expert to internal & external customers and partners
  • Implementing firmware for feature requests, Custom Product Offerings (CPOs), and bug fixes
  • Having an integral role in the creation of POCs, Demos, and Prototypes
  • Configuring test environments to replicate and troubleshoot customer-reported issues
  • Preparing documentation to capture requirements for Custom Product Offerings (CPOs)
  • Preparing documentation for specialized seminars, application notes, and technical papers
  • Providing customer feedback to product management, marketing, and engineering teams

 

 

What we will love about your background:

 

  • Knowledge of low-level electronics and the ability to read schematics
  • Knowledge of physical access control and the security industry is desirable
  • Knowledge of contactless RFID credentials and readers is desirable
  • Knowledge and experience of mobile implementations is desirable
  • Ability to effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing
  • Must have excellent telephone/interpersonal/communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.  

 

 

Your Experience and Education include:  

       

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in hands-on embedded development or similar role
  • Senior level knowledge of the C programming language. (C# and Python desirable)
