As our Software Engineer Intern, you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Assisting in the development, and maintenance of multi-platform software solutions
- Participating in testing new AI-driven integrations or internal tools built to support the engineering team
- Using AI-based tools to assist with coding, documentation, test preparation, and troubleshooting
- Following established engineering practices such as unit testing, code reviews, and compliance with architectural guidelines
- Contributing to documentation of software architecture and technical specifications
- Utilizing AI tools and prompt-engineering techniques under guidance to improve development efficiency
- Experimenting with different AI-driven workflows, including prompt refinement, code-generation assistance, and automated documentation support
- Preparing structured inputs or datasets used for internal AI tools or automation tasks
- Assisting in testing new features, identifying issues, and verifying fixes under the guidance of senior engineers
- Contributing ideas for improving internal processes, especially through automation or AI-powered enhancements
- Participating in project meetings and collaborate with team members on ongoing initiatives
Your Experience and Background include:
- Ongoing studies in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- Basic experience with at least one programming language (C#, Python, TypeScript, or similar)
- Interest in practical applications of AI in software development
- Ability to formulate clear instructions, prompts, or problem statements for AI tools
- Familiarity with common development environments and tools (Visual Studio, VS Code, Git)
- Good attention to detail — especially when reviewing AI-generated output
- Willingness to experiment with different AI techniques and adapt based on results
- Solid communication skills and ability to work with technical documentation
- Good command of English, both verbal and written
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Ability to collaborate effectively in a multicultural team
- Basic experience or strong interest in utilizing AI tools, prompt engineering, or AI agents to support development tasks
