Senior Product Manager (Global Wireless Lock Platform)

What you would do as our Product Manager

As a Product Manager in ASSA ABLOY Group Technology Team, the central R&D unit reporting to Group CTO, you will work together with creative, curious and competent engineers who create the next generation access control solutions.

Being part of our team you will take responsibility for and drive one of our largest technology platforms for embedded products. In that role you will be supporting complex, global innovation projects with business opportunity analysis, market and customer understanding, translation of needs into product and platform requirements, specifications, and subsequent concept development prioritization. Balancing needs of customers and internal stakeholders in different regions and divisions.  

You will closely collaborate with other Product Managers, Business Owners, Product Owners, System Architects, other platform teams and group divisions following Scaled Agile Framework and Lean/Agile practices as our way of working and product management approach.

A day of your work will include:

  • Tight collaboration with platform stakeholders, suppliers and multiple development teams
  • Driving platform vision and directions based on Business Owners' input
  • Defining roadmap, working on MVP scope
  • Collecting and negotiating requirements and converting them into Epics/Features
  • Participating in backlog planning and refinement to express business needs and manage priorities
  • Identifying opportunities and requirements for technology-based market success
  • Providing expertise to and leading programs from the research phase to successful product launch in tight collaboration with pre-product innovation teams and the organization that will host the result in their product portfolio


The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • has a background in engineering, R&D product development
  • has several years of previous experience in international product management in a technology/high-tech industry
  • is analytical to understand options and evaluate solutions 
  • is structured and efficient and has the will to reach the finish line 
  • understands customer needs, business models and business cases
  • can lead and inspire others 
  • likes to interact with people and find solutions for both technical and cultural challenges
  • has good presentation skills and integrity to present proposals in an environment of various opinions 
  • can effectively communicate in the English language, both verbally and in writing

 

Ideally, you would also have:

  • experience in working with agile frameworks, methods, practices and tools (SAFe)
  • working experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence and Miro

In this position, traveling to our other sites will be required.
