What you would do as Senior Mechanical Engineer?

 

The job holder will be responsible for mechanical design of new electromechanical locking products. You will collaborate in a development team to offer innovative solutions of differentiating our products from others on the market and will also be responsible for ensuring that the mechanical design meets the highest standards for our customers.

 

Location: The successful candidate should be based in Krakow, Stockholm or Rychnov. 

 

Principal Responsibilities:

  • Generate and evaluate mechanical hardware designs; applying principles of metal and plastic parts design, system design, 3D modeling and drafting, static and dynamic analysis, tolerance analysis, material engineering and tooling

  • Creating product documentation regarding mechanical product design

  • Close cooperation with the Product Management, other group development centres and group industrial design team to develop the products according market requirements and specification

  • Preparing of technical specifications and testing specifications

  • Preparation and commissioning of samples and prototypes tested within the projects

  • Validation and verification of mechanical design against the requirements and specifications

  • Execute D-FMEA and support P-FMEA process

  • Work closely with the project team to align the mechanical design with the build in electronics and industrialization

  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

  • Keep up with all relevant technology trends which could impact / improve our products or business

  • Root cause analysis of field / customer issues

  • Development tests and type tests for all required certifications and declarations (CE, VdS etc.) of the products

 

Education, Work Experience and Personal Qualities

  • A background and previous experience within Mechanical Engineering or a related subject

  • Very good knowledge of 3D M-CAD modeling and drafting

  • Experience of 3D modeling in SolidWorks would be an advantage

  • A strong product and technical knowledge in any of the following areas: Access Control,  Building Automation, Security Systems

  • Proven experience in mechanical design

  • Good knowledge of global EN and IEC standards and product compliance related process

  • Good knowledge of materials, e.g. metals, plastics, …

  • Strong technical understanding of production technologies (machining, lathing, grinding, …) and product assembly

  • Experience working with a phase gate development process, agile and scrum methodologies

  • Good team player who understands the importance of meeting deadlines and who thrives in a busy, challenging environment

  • Experience of working in a multicultural team and in an international environment

  • The ability to work in another major European language as well as good English language skills

  • A collaborative mind set with an open attitude to learn new things

  • An open mind and transparency in results and obstacles
