Lead Firmware Developer
Do you have a passion for IoT and leading embedded firmware development? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. The Wireless Lock product unit in the EMEIA Division is looking for a senior embedded software engineer to lead one of our firmware teams. Join us in Krakó (Zabierzów).
What would you do as a Lead Firmware Developer
You would lead a skilled agile firmware development team dedicated to developing state of art wireless locks products and systems that enables secure, real-time electronic locking without complex wiring. You would work closely with stakeholders to define and align on requirements and roadmap. You would also collaborate with hardware teams developing the electronics and with software teams developing related mobile apps and cloud software communicating with the device firmware. Your main focus will be to lead the team to success but you will also develop some code and take part in design discussions in order to stay on top of things.
Your would also:
- Lead the firmware team to develop and deliver firmware on time on target.
- Scrum master for the firmware team. Manage all scrum related activities (standup, planning, sprint reviews).
- Align and define requirements and roadmap with product manager and other stake holders.
- Improve ways of working and best practices within the team.
We believe that you are an experienced embedded software engineer that likes to lead a team of developers in an agile environment but still have a passion for code.
Over time this role may be expanded to include people management.
The skills and experience we are looking for
Technical:
- 3+ years of embedded firmware development in C.
- Experience with ARM Cortex MCUs (M0-M4).
- Experience with Real-Time Operating Systems (e.g., FreeRTOS, Zephyr) as well as bare metal.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, unit and integration test.
Leadership:
- Experience of working in a team leading role or as a project manager.
- Experience with working as a scrum master is highly preferred.
- Ability to lead, communicate and build effective relationships stakeholders.
- Technical education in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, Software Engineering or similar; Bachelor’s degree or higher is preferred.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
Nice to have :
- experience with several of the following: wireless technologies such as BLE and Zigbee, low-energy battery powered products, RFID and NFC credential technologies (e.g. Seos, MIFARE DESFire), cryptography and cybersecurity, AI tools for firmware development and SAFe agile methodologies.
