Embedded System Architect at ASSA ABLOY, DAS, EMEIA 

EMEIA Division is currently developing their ACS (Access Control Strategy) and to execute this grand initiative we need to strengthen our team with an Embedded System Architect to define our next generation battery driven locking products. Focused to meet customer demand, ease of use and to build new revenue streams around software and services. 

 

Are you excited about new and future technologies and have the capability to realize usage of these technologies in our digital product line? Then this role is something you should consider  

 

Responsibilities 

  • In cooperation with R&D team and Product Managers, translate business oriented use cases into clear technical requirements 

  • Design the next generation embedded systems, software engineering and development associated with power constrained devices and systems built on current and future SoC (system of a chip) architectures 

  • Create, maintain and document the system architecture and block diagrams that represents communication protocols and software components in order to fulfill the technical requirements 

  • Mentor team members in regards to programming best practices 

  • Work closely with EMEIA market regions and product companies who are developing embedded products to ensure that their developments are in-line with the overall EMEIA objectives. 

 

About You:

  • Former working experience at least 3 years as an Embedded System Architect or 8 years as an Embedded Firmware/Software Developer is considered beneficial for this role 

  • Have a strong passion for Digital Products 

  • Are an excellent communicator with strong networking skills and with a good ability to inspire others 

  • Experience with defining communication protocols 

  • Previous experience within 1 or more of the following technologies would be an advantage: 

           - ARM MCUs and RTOS (Zephyr, FreeRTOS) 

           - Secure communication protocols 

           - Low power product designs 

           - Wireless communication technologies (BLE, WiFi, mesh) 

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in engineering or similar 

  • Strong communication skills in English and comfortable communicating with all levels of the organization 

  • Able to occasionally travel across EU and other ASSA ABLOY Regions
