What you will be doing

Reporting to the R&D Manager, you will be part of a team of dedicated and motivated professionals who put pride in delivering innovative, high-quality, and secure products that are used worldwide.

As a member of GTT R&D Operations, you will be developing top-of-the-line embedded opening solutions products and platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the technical design, implementation, and verification of embedded firmware
  • Analyze and integrate firmware involving new controller technologies
  • Program MIPS, RISC processors using C/C++ and assembly language to implement core firmware components
  • Work with System Architects in the development of the firmware solutions
  • Work with Apps engineers to address customer’s issues and needs
  • Work in collaboration with other sites to design solutions and resolve customer issues
  • Participate in detailed design and code reviews of implementations by the team
  • Sustain current products and develop next-generation products for production
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues in embedded real-time systems
  • Write comprehensive engineering documentation including design documents, implementation notes, and verification test plans

 

Preferred experience

  • 3+ years of software/firmware development for embedded systems
  • Detailed working knowledge of software/firmware design and implementation
  • Knowledge of RTOS constructs including processes, threads, scheduling, synchronization mechanisms, memory management
  • Knowledge of communication protocols: I2C, SPI, RS232, rs485, USB, Bluetooth, etc
  • Proficient programmer in C and assembly for embedded devices
  • Some experience in Python is nice to have
