International Transportation Analyst
Location: Xiamen, China
Job Summary
This role will be responsible for operations performance reporting and data analytics for international transportation across the globe for AAAR. The key focus is the ability to offer analytics using various MS Office 365, ERP tools and SSL web-based tools. Reports creation & automation, database management, along with driving continuous improvement projects are critical to the success of this role.
Responsible for measuring, analyzing, and reporting transportation services and routes (50%)
- Manage/create performance metrics/models for global ocean/air/drayage.
- Support management in data mining, analysis, solutions recommendations to improve performance, oversight and adherence to goals and initiative across the globe.
- Maintain weekly/monthly/quarterly business reporting.
- Support development of enhanced reporting, processes (including macros, PowerBI, automation, etc).
- Develop report standards for the operations team/staff in support of daily operations.
- Maintain & track ATO and SSL KPIs.
Drive savings and improve service levels (50%)
- Develop/track and drive improvements of leading and lagging metrics, including but not limited to:
- Shipment costs analysis & recommendations
- Carrier and Transit time performance improvement opportunities
- Freight index tracking and forecasting
- Identify, implement, and track continuous improvement initiatives for all international freight movements, consolidations, mode shifts, carrier negotiations, cost savings, etc.
- Any additional tasks as assigned by supervisor.
Education and Experience Profile
Basic requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Operations Management, Mathematics, Engineering discipline, Operations Research, or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in international logistics analytics / material planning / supply chain management function for International Logistics or FMCG industry.
Preferred requirements:
- Experience in and understanding of international and North America domestic shipment and logistic cost drivers.
- Experience with Freight payment information and analysis is preferred.
- Self-Initiative, Quantitative problem-solving skills, with strong team involvement
- Ability to work under pressure.
Other requirements:
- Fluent written/spoken English.
- MS Office with minimum intermediate level in Excel, Word, PowerBI and PowerPoint.
- Knowledge of MS Access.
- Experience with GT Nexus, SAP or ERP.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Experience with Global Logistics tracking or visibility systems will be helpful.
