What would you do as our Maintenance Technician (Tool & Die Maker)?

You’ll play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and improving manufacturing equipment. Using your technical expertise, you’ll troubleshoot complex issues, fabricate replacement parts, and support safe, reliable, and efficient manufacturing operations.

 

You would also:

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and equipment modifications
  • Diagnose mechanical issues by dismantling and assembling complex machinery
  • Perform inspections during plant shutdowns
  • Fabricate replacement parts using machining equipment
  • Set up and maintain jigs and welding programs
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and lockout records
  • Recommend and support equipment improvements
  • Adjust, align, clean, lubricate, and calibrate machinery and controls
  • Ensure compliance with all safety standards, legislation, and codes
  • Support ISO9001, ISO14001, and ASSA ABLOY safety and quality requirements

 

The Skills and Experience You Need:

  • Licensed Tool & Die Maker (Red Seal) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Electrical, electronic, and metal fabrication experience
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to recognize and diagnose mechanical dysfunctions
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Experience with spot welding
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical manuals
  • Understanding of machine operating principles (press brake, punch press, roll former, shear)
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical functions
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with a creative mindset
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies and equipment
  • Fluent English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team
  • Availability to work during the annual Christmas shutdown
  • Manufacturing experience in an ISO9001 and ISO14001 certified environment preferred
