Accountant

What would you do as our Accountant?
In this role, you own the full cycle accounting function while ensuring financial statements systems and internal control procedures are maintained with the utmost integrity.
You will also:
- Act as a business partner in support of day-to-day operations.
- Manage the month-end closing process, including preparing journal entries, inter-company reconciliations & reporting packages, analyzing financial results, and explaining variances.
- Prepare balance sheet accounts reconciliation.
- Review and audit weekly union hourly payroll register for accuracy.
- Assist with weekly, monthly, and annual financial planning.
- Assist in preparation for corporate tax return reporting.
- Assist with internal control requirements, ensuring compliance & effective control procedures are in place.
The Skills and Experience you need:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field required.
- Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills. Can identify issues and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to cause correct.
- Kaizen mind set; constantly exploring opportunities to improve productivity and/or efficiency.
- Great attention to detail and communication skills.
- Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel.
- Team player. Can work well under pressure, both autonomously and in collaboration with other.
- Previous experience with an ERP system. JDE (JD Edward) experience a plus
- Excellent communication and time management skills to in a fast-paced and ever-changing environment
- Ability to multitask and prioritize projects under tight time deadlines
