Territory Account Manager

 

 

JOB SUMMARY

The Territory Account Manager provides Wholesale sales, service, and other activities related to assigned customers and the development of new customers to achieve established sales objectives for the territory.  They will model the ASSA ABLOY values and behaviors to achieve service excellence, meet and exceed organizational objectives and support fiscal responsibility.

 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

Wholesale Sales

  • Prospect for, convert, and close on new builder/developer business opportunities in the region.
  • Keep informed on new construction projects, inventory requirements and new sales opportunities with both direct and in-direct customers.
  • Communicate product information to distributor personnel as well as indirect customers to ensure awareness of new or enhanced product lines
  • Promote the sale of all ASSA ABLOY brands to Building Supply Distributors, Direct OEM Pre-Hung Door/Millwork Accounts, Contract Hardware/Hardware Wholesalers, Locksmiths/Locksmith Distributors, Direct OEM Mobile Home & RV Manufacturers, and Residential Access distributors and security dealers.
  • Work with local team, customers and builder/designer community to create spec driven sales opportunities.
  • Maximize market share by achieving individual and organizational sales goals growth targets.

 

Service

  • Manage the day-to-day service to support sales activities and customer relationships by calling and having face-to-face in-store calls according to service schedules and as necessary to resolve issues.
  • Advise distributor personnel on depth and breadth of ASSA ABLOY brands inventories through physical check and review of system reports.
  • Provide service to all direct and indirect accounts to ensure development of good customer relationships within the framework of company procedures and policies.
  • Remove defective product and placing/repairing POP material.
  • Follow up on delivery or order problems as required to ensure the highest level of customer service.
  • Attend promotional and grand openings to help educate customers and products.
  • Assist corporate department with product evaluation, marketing plans etc. as requested.
  • Assist in all regional trade shows, regional sales meetings, may assist other Territory Account Manager with special events, vacancies or other events.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Administration

  • Maintain records, reports and other items required by the company for the territory.
  • Customer records for each assigned account including purchase orders, credit approvals, and follow-up on credit issues, as required.
  • Completes all reports, surveys, results, and other information requests as requested in a timely manner.
  • Negotiate credit terms and maintain records according to company guidelines and policies for shipping errors, shortages, and defective products.
  • Transmit orders and call information to corporate per the standard procedure.
  • Communicate with corporate departments promptly on all special requirements, questions, or issues that may develop.
  • Communicate information to appropriate departments and management regarding competitive products, changes in accounts, and territory status in an expedient manner.
  • Submit regular reports to the Area Sales Manager, as required, to ensure communication of personal sales activities and information regarding sales activity within territory with regards to existing accounts, competition, current and future market conditions.

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 3-5 years of successful sales experience

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Strong work ethic, hunter mentality, love of sales, and the drive to get out in the field and support existing business and/or pursue new business daily
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to use a consultative sales approach
  • A customer-centric orientation and excellent relationship building skills
  • A positive, energetic attitude, Initiative, drive, and out-of-the box thinking
  • Understanding of a P&L

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

  • Secondary education, preferably in Business, or the equivalent combination of experience
  • General knowledge of ASSA ABLOY products and target customers
  • 2+ years directly related to new construction industry

 

Pay Range: $70,000 to $85,000.

 

This “base salary range” is a reasonable estimate for this position at the time of posting. Pay within each range is based on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, to primary work job-related knowledge, skills, experience, business requirements and geographic location. ASSA ABLOY conducts regular review of compensation ranges and therefore reserves the right to alter this range at any given time.
