Job Overview
The General Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, operational performance, and profitability of Wallace Perimeter Security. Reporting to the Managing Director, North America, the role provides strategic direction and oversight for all aspects to the business, including manufacturing, sales, installation, and service operations across North America. 
The General Manager leads a team of approximately 35 employees through direct and indirect reporting relationships. This position is accountable for overall business performance, including P&L results, while driving operational excellence, customer satisfaction, employee engagement, innovation, and sustainable growth.

 

Key Responsibilities
•    Lead all business operations related to the design, manufacturing, sales, installation, and service of commercial and industrial perimeter security solutions across North America
•    Provide leadership, direction, and support to the senior leadership team
•    Assume full accountability for P&L performance, including revenue growth, gross margin, operating expenses, profitability, cash flow, budgeting, forecasting and financial planning
•    Develop and execute strategic and operational plans that support growth and long-term business objectives
•    Drive operational excellence, productivity, quality, innovation, and customer satisfaction across the organization
•    Expand market presence and support growth initiatives across key commercial and industrial sectors, including critical infrastructure, transportation, utilities, government, and industrial markets
•    Foster a culture of safety, accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement
•    Develop, coach, and mentor leaders while fostering employee engagement, accountability, collaboration, and high performance
•    Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, partners, suppliers, and key stakeholders
•    Partner with the Managing Director, North America, to achieve strategic, operational, and financial goals while aligning with ASSA ABLOY objectives
•    Travel within Canada, the United States, and internationally, as required. A valid passport and driver's licence are required

•    Strong business, financial, and operational acumen with demonstrated P&L management experience
•    Leadership experience within manufacturing, construction, industrial, or project-based environments
•    Proven ability to lead, develop, and motivate high-performing teams
•    Strong strategic planning, execution, and change management capabilities
•    Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-management skills
•    Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and analytical abilities
•    Ability to drive continuous improvement, organizational change, operational efficiency, and business growth
•    Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office, ERP systems, and business management software

 

Required Education & Experience
•    Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Commerce, Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
•    Minimum 10 years of progressive leadership experience, including senior management responsibilities with full P&L accountability
•    Significant leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, building products, security solutions, or a related industry
•    Demonstrated success leading multi-functional teams and driving operational excellence, business growth, and profitability
•    Experience within the perimeter security, access control, fencing, gate systems, or related industries is considered an asset
