Maintenance Technician (1st Shift)

Location: Williamsport, MD

Classification: Non-Exempt, Full-Time

Annual Salary: $25-31 per hour

 

Position Summary

The Maintenance Technician Level 1 will perform preventative maintenance on all Manufacturing equipment and assist maintenance mechanics with other projects and duties as needed.

 

Essential Job Functions

  • Perform routine preventive maintenance. Follow maintenance schedules for all manufacturing equipment.
  • Track inventory of supplies needed to perform preventive maintenance on all manufacturing equipment and utilities.
  • Initiates and participates in continuous improvement through cost savings, kaizen and other related activities.
  • Reviews manufacturers' service manuals, own establishment's usage schedules, and records of maintenance problems to determine optimum frequency of preventive maintenance
  • Completes work orders by priority to ensure efficient operations
  • Maintains equipment maintenance records.
  • Timely informs Supervisors and provides daily updates to other maintenance personnel of any issues with operation, safety, or quality.
  • Completes work orders by triaging according to priority and ensuring efficient operations.
  • Follow the required standard work and achieve the published standard work goals
  • Works and communicates in a professional manner with all business personnel.
  • Maintains a clean and organized workstation that supports 6s methodology.
  • Follows all company and safety policies/procedures, including but not limited to wearing all required personal protective equipment (PPE). Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must have good small dexterity skills.
  • Must have general math skills.
  • Able to read blueprints and schematics.
  • Must be able to read and write English.
  • Knowledge of Industrial Maintenance disciplines

 

Educational & Certification

  • Lock-Out/Tag-Out certification
  • Pass and maintain current industrial forklift & man lift certifications
  • Pass and maintain NFPA 70E
  • Pass and maintain First Aid/CPR certification
  • Electrical certifications for 240V and 480V

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand on concrete floor with/without floor mats; and use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms (which may include above and/or below shoulders); bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.  The employee is regularly required to use left and/or right hand for simple grasping; fine work, pushing/pulling and fast paced assembly.  The employee is occasionally required to walk, climb, or balance.  The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 40 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions.  The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts; high, precarious places and vibration.  The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals and risk of electrical shock.  The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
