Senior Quality & Process Control Engineer - HSS
Location: Willenhall, West Midlands
Reporting to: Director & Head of Manufacturing (UKI)
Role overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality & Process Control Engineer to take ownership of quality, compliance and process control across our High Security & Safety (HSS) product portfolio. Based at our Willenhall manufacturing and assembly site, this role plays a critical part in ensuring that our custodial windows, doors, locking systems and associated products meet the highest standards of safety, compliance and performance.
You will work across manufacturing, supply chain and live construction sites, supporting major projects such as Police Custody, Immigration Centres, Secure Units.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, deploy and maintain robust process controls across all High Security and Safety product categories.
- Ensure full compliance with stakeholder specifications, requirements, FIRAS standards, UKCA regulations and internal engineering rules.
- Define and monitor inspection and testing procedures from raw material receipt through to final site sign‑off.
- Manage Tier 1 contractor quality platforms to capture site snags and track resolution.

Own the end‑to‑end CAPA lifecycle, from non‑conformance identification through to long‑term corrective actions.

Lead root cause analysis using structured methodologies such as 5 Whys, Fishbone, FMEA and layered audits.

Work closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Project Delivery and Installation teams to embed preventive controls and eliminate repeat issues.

Attend UK project sites to validate installation quality and compliance for:
- Windows and doors
- Riser and service doors
- Timber and joinery packages
- FF&E and locking systems

Provide real‑time technical support to installation teams.Conduct site inspections, installation audits and final compliance checks.

Maintain end‑to‑end product traceability using digital systems (e.g. QR‑code and component tracking). Produce, review and approve quality documentation including:
- Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs)
- Compliance packs
- Certificates and as‑built records

Deliver clear, transparent quality reporting to clients and stakeholders

Provide early‑stage quality input and risk assessment during pre‑construction phases

Build trusted relationships with key partners, stakeholders and other strategic contractors
Skills & Experience
- Significant experience in quality leadership within manufacturing, construction or high‑security environments.
- Strong knowledge of MoJ/HMPPS specifications and custodial product requirements.
- Proven background in CAPA, root cause analysis and process improvement.
- Comfortable supporting high‑pressure construction sites and multi‑site operations.
- Excellent communication skills with strong client‑facing capability.
- Willingness to travel nationally and work flexibly.
