Act as a key member of the Engineering Team, you will support improvement of assembly and primary processes. Drive automation implementation. Use Lean principles of Flow, TAKT and Value Analysis to reduce costs.

 

Support new product introductions and factory relayouts. Drive safety and sustainability improvements.

 

Key responsibilities and duties are to: 

 

  • Develop alternative production methods using Lean tools and techniques, support and drive automation and robotics implementation.
  • Design factory layouts, fixtures, tooling, materials handling equipment, along with designing manufacturing processes for new products as part of the new product introduction process.
  • Create drawings and concepts using a variety of software including CAD SolidWorks, ME10 and Microsoft Windows.
  • Engage with the shop floor and wider team to solve any issues/problems, to Communicate and work with other operational departments.
  • Productivity improvements using Lean techniques (e.g. SMED, TPM, Standard Ops, Capability Studies)
  • Introduce Quality improvements (e.g. gauging, traceability, measuring), and product cost and runtime analysis.

 

The ideal candidate will have:

 

  • A good Understanding, and able to read production drawings.
  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing.
  • Good IT skills and be familiar with ERP systems, including placing Purchase Orders.
  • Experience of project management.
  • Proven experience of improving productivity in a professional environment.
  • Experience in production cost analysis.
  • Effective team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Excellent customer service orientation.
