What you would do as our Digital Lead
The Digital Lead is responsible for helping create (in partnership with Head of Marketing) and executing a digital strategy to drive engagement, improve customer experience, grow our online presence, and provide direction across all of our digital content. This a role offers a brilliant opportunity if you are ready to play an instrumental role in the digital transformation of the business. This role requires someone who is a self-starter and will be hands on as well as being a strategic thinker with good commercial acumen.
The digital lead will interface with the two marketing leads that look after two channels: The specification channel looks after the ASSA ABLOY brand and products. These products are sold through architectural ironmongers, locksmiths and specified on large-scale projects such as schools, hotels, and stadiums. It is a fast-paced channel where we need to generate high value opportunities from major and new accounts through more bespoke marketing activities and through influencing decision makers as well as end users (indirect). The trade channel looks after the UNION brand and products, targeting the builders merchant channel (Selco, Howdens, Screwfix). It is a fast-paced channel where we need to generate high volume demand through channel management, dealer distribution, key partner relationships and influencing the end user.
- To create (in partnership with the Head of Marketing) and lead the digital strategy, activation, content and management of all digital platforms and touchpoints
- Develop digital marketing campaigns to drive sales activity on new product lines together with the marketing channel lead and product teams
- Lead on data analytics for all online channels and platforms and set clear KPIs to measure success of the activity. Report back analytics in a meaningful and clear way with recommendations to improve
- Work closely with EMEIA and Group functions to ensure alignment on digital strategy and initiatives to maximise efforts
- Create and lead a strategy to nurture our existing contacts database, moving them along a staged journey to become sales qualified leads
- Use digital tools to generate new leads
- To create successful, innovative and measurable online marketing campaigns designed to increase sales and retain customers. Including paid media, online promotion, content marketing and social targeting to increase brand awareness and increase consideration
- Devising fast experiments that test the effectiveness of new approaches, tools and techniques
- You’ll be the acknowledged expert in your field, monitoring trends, ensuring we keep up with best practice and using your knowledge to upskill the wider team
- Manage, build and optimise the divisions websites, optimise online customer journeys ensuring best in class UX and UI
- Develop and maintain the brands social media presence
- Manage the ROI of the digital element of the marketing budget
- Pro-actively identify opportunities for organic search improvement and implement
- Support Head of Marketing to maximise how the CRM platform is used and map customer lifecycle journeys. Use this data to support marketing efforts
- Be the brand guardians and ambassadors, ensuring consistency across all narratives and tone of voice through to all visual touchpoints
- Lead large-scale strategic projects with many teams and stakeholders involved
The skills and experience you need
- Proven experience in all aspects of digital marketing
- High competence in influencing and engaging senior key stakeholders
- Proven ability in creating strategy decks and strong commercial acumen
- Experience of Adobe Experience Manager highly desirable
- Recent experience delivering paid social campaigns and search engine marketing
- Good experience in developing and articulating customer journeys
- Budget and spend management experience
- Proven ability to work on multiple projects, under pressure and to deadlines, with excellent organisational and planning skills
- B2B background would be preferable
- Industry experience not essential, but may be advantageous
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Experience in account-based marketing, applying digital tools to widen reach (desirable but not essential)
- Education to degree level preferably in a marketing or business related degree
