What you would do as our Design Engineer
As our Design Engineer you will provide product/process design expertise initially focused on Emergency Exit Hardware and Door Closers with further NPI's for the Door Hardware Group. A key focus of the role will be on the control, modification and creation of bills of materials ensuring a high degree of accuracy. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys processing engineering changes and collaborating with the Product Management and Quality teams.
You would also:
• Oversee the creation of the products through Autocad Inventor, ensuring accuracy of componentry.
• Be responsible for the generation of production drawings & FIMEA analysis for parts and assemblies.
• Identify key suppliers for sample production and the provision of drawings.
• Provide the provision of drawings/tolerances/golden samples to the Quality Department for inwards goods inspection.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
• Has strong industry product knowledge with hands-on experience in pressed components, machined parts, plastic moulding, and aluminium castings.
• Is skilled in 3D CAD systems, particularly Autodesk Inventor, with expertise in assembly modelling, mechanisms, and simulations.
• Is proficient in creating production drawings for both individual parts and complete assemblies.
• Has solid grasp of engineering tolerances, including linear and geometrical tolerancing (ISO 1101).
• Is familiar with product testing to meet EN standards and directives, along with a good understanding of basic metrology.
