Product Manager Firmware Authentication RFID Readers

An Amazing Career Opportunity for a Product Manager Firmware Authentication RFID Readers!!

Location: Wiesbaden, Germany

Job ID: 52104

The Enterprise Authentication Reader business line (BL) focuses on People authentication use cases in Enterprise serticals using RFID & Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) credential technologies. It is historically closely linked to the HID Physical Access Control System (PACS) ecosystem, and today part of the Reader Business Unit (BU) within IDentification Technologies (IDT) Business Area (BA). The strategy of the business line is to grow revenue in our core markets and outside HID PACS ecosystem. As a Product Manager, Firmware Authentication RFID Readers, you are in charge for all Firmware in all RFID products of the business line. You report to the Director Product Management. This responsibility spans several platforms (5) with multiple product families. The responsibility for the product family lies with the Product PMs, but you are involved in each via the Firmware platform. Of the 5 Platforms, 3 are established or mature and do not require much maintenance and 2 are in focus. You will define strategic vision, develop the comprehensive Firmware roadmap. You are very technical to closely collaborate with the R&D teams, but you also have the business background to understand the market needs and you can prioritize accordingly. Drawing on your expertise, technical understanding of embedded Firmware, customer insights, and input from business lines and Reader BU management, you'll articulate the business value and strategic rationale to ensure the product team clearly understands the purpose behind each feature request. You support the R&D team in understanding the use case and the intended feature. This requires direct collaboration with cross-functional teams including mostly Engineering & Pre Sales/Support, but also Sales, Marketing, and Operations/Production to execute features and Epics that meet both business objectives and market demands.

There is a link to the HW on which the embedded FW is running on. You are understanding this link and have an eye on the HW developments in terms of new chips and Technologies (UWB, BLE channel sounding, low power modes, edge processing etc.). You build technology partnerships with friends and competitors, e.g. for embedding 3rd party credential technologies. In this role, you will identify emerging technology trends and drive platform reuse strategies across HID's IDentification Technologies (IDT) and Physical Access Control Systems (PACS) portfolios. You'll partner with IDT business leaders, global engineering teams, and regional organizations to develop comprehensive product management strategies that advance our market position. You'll leverage the technical depth within the IDT organization to strengthen our competitive advantage while driving customer demand and nurturing key relationships. You must be highly passionate about technology, your thinking about solutions is customer-centric, and you are continuously attuned to industry trends in cloud platforms, physical and logical access control, and identity management. The ideal candidate combines a global mindset with cultural awareness, thrives in fast-paced team environments, and demonstrates strong results orientation. You have a strong technical understanding in EE and embedded software, but you are comfortable in navigating business driven decisions.
