We are looking for a technology and customer relations driven Pre-Sales Engineer to join our Europe Pre-Sales team, you will be managing the DACH and Benelux regions, reporting into the Director of Sales Engineering Europe.
As a Pre-Sales Engineer, you use your ability to convey technical value to assist our customers, partners, and internal sales force with all aspects of a sale. The ideal candidate should enjoy working on a remote team and with multiple account managers’, partners and end customers throughout the assigned region and Europe.
You will actively promote HID technologies including Authentication Credentials such as iCLASS® Seos® and MIFARE® DESFire®, Authentication Devices such as HID Signo readers and Cloud Services.
You will provide technical leadership, market intelligence and strategic direction on behalf of your accounts to internal stakeholders such as Product Marketing and Sales leadership.
You will join a dynamic and motivated team of sales professionals and executives driving continued success within a growing market.
As you will manage customers across entire DACH and Benelux regions, business travel is required. You must possess or can acquire a valid Passport with no restrictions. You must also possess a car drivers license.

Physical Access Control Solutions Business Area (PACS):
The PACS business is highly visible and one of our most significant portfolios within HID Global. The PACS products include smart cards, mobile access and identifications, software, services, and controllers for physical access control.
You will support HID’s success by:
- Leading in-depth technical discussions with partners and end-users.
- Having the ability to listen and understand the overall goals of a customer, and how best to design a solution that will work in large scale diverse environments
- Working with Sales during a sales cycle to qualify, position, prove and transition solutions
- Providing Partners and End Users training on HID Specific technologies and relevant industry topics.
- Presenting directly to customers on behalf of HID and/or our Partners and can understand requirements and present the appropriate solution from our product set to meet and exceed the requirements and expectations
- Aiding other departments in the company when required (support, Professional Services, Product Marketing, Product Management, etc.)
- Providing regular field feedback to the product marketing and product management teams
Your background:
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer centric approach.

- A willingness to learn and develop knowledge concerning regulatory standards applicable to our business.
- Good communication, interpersonal and intercultural skillset, able to communicate and act on different hierarchy levels effectively

Your Qualifications and Experience include:
Education and/or Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or higher education in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering is favorable, but may be substituted for relevant experience and/or other qualifications
- Solid experience working in customer facing roles (including but not limited to consulting, sales engineering, training, support) with technical focus.
Language
- Fluent in German and English.
- Turkish Language capability would be advantageous
Technical
- Experience and technical understanding of physical access control products or related technologies.
- Experience with smart card readers, cryptography, and security practices
- Ability to read and interpret technical journals, specifications, international technical standards, etc.
- Can architecture Physical Access Control Credentials such as NXP MIFARE DESFire or HID iCLASS Seos.
Highly Favorable Skills
- Experience with consuming Web APIs using for example Postman, curl or similar.
- Scripting experience (Python, Javascript, C#, PowerShell)
- Linux experience
- Protocol stack experience, such as OSDP, MQTT, HTTP, TCP/IP or other relevant protocols.
