ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions | Hospitality is looking for a Managing Director Germany.


Reporting and Location

Managing Director Germany reports to the Head of Europe Hospitality and will be a member of the Management Team Europe.

The Managing Director Germany position is based in Wiesbaden, Germany. 


Position summary

Managing Director Germany is responsible for establishing the goals, strategies, plans, and policies to enter into new market segments, and for the execution of approved plans to deliver sales growth in the short and long term in Germany. 

  • Assume P&L responsibility for the business unit
  • Prepare an annual business plan, and monitor and report regularly progress against this plan to ensure that the Company meets its objectives
  • Manage the development of objectives and strategic plans to achieve business opportunities, revenue growth, and increased financial profitability.
  • Lead the development of activities to build on the Company’s strengths, identify business opportunities, increase share of market, obtain a more competitive position and expand business in the Hospitality industry
  • Coordinate strategies of pricing, marketing, advertising, and profitability of specific products for the market


Position responsibilities

  • Promote the Company’s products, services, and solutions to drive sales growth
  • Realize strategic objectives, budgets and overall result, and develop plans to achieve revenue growth and increased financial profitability
  • Extend and develop the cooperation and relationship with our customers and local / regional key accounts
  • Provide accurate order forecasts for production planning
  • Perform win/loss analysis and implement new strategies, where necessary
  • Represent the Company in negotiations with customers, suppliers, government departments and others
  • Proactively gather business intelligence and information regarding potential competitors, contracts, etc and inform management about major happenings and relevant trends.
  • Maintain memberships in relevant trade associations and other relevant groups, attend meetings for networking and exhibiting relevant products and systems, and follow up to achieve sales.
  • Ensure that prospects and customers are kept informed and educated about the latest solutions, products, and services provided by the Company.
  • Coordinate with Customer Support, Technical Support, R&D, and other departments to ensure that all service and technical issues are resolved in an accelerated manner
  • Ensure that all business activities are conducted in full compliance with Company’s standards and agreements in sales and service, and with the ASSA ABLOY Code of Conduct
  • Responsible for the performance management of German employees to ensure that the highest levels of service are delivered to customers at all times.
  • Recruit new members to the German business ensuring that the correct job description and person specification has been created for the role.
  • Ensure that business risks are identified at an early stage to ensure these are minimized.



  • Bachelor degree in business or related field is required
  • Lead P&L experience for three (3) years minimum
  • Proven record of success in business development and sales management with adequate leadership experience for a minimum of (5) years
  • Relevant experience of about ten (10) years in the Hospitality industry electronic lock industry, or similar markets such as the B2B supplier of systems, products or services to the Hotel industry, or to Education, Healthcare, Multihousing … markets
  • Significant hands-on business experience in Germany
  • Willingness to travel throughout Germany, with some travel required throughout EMEA
  • High level of commercial and entrepreneurial skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills to multi-task
  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills 
  • Must be fluent in English (oral & written)
  • Strong commercial and strategic understanding

  • Ability to work both within a defined structure as well as independently
  • Ability to operate in an environment of teamwork, common goals, and transparency.
  • Must possess strong and effective presentation and communication skills, whether one-on-one, in public settings, or via written media. 
  • Demonstrable motivation and influencing skills
  • PC and systems literate with ERP/CRM exposure a plus
