Manufacturing Scheduler
The Manufacturing Scheduler is responsible for creating and maintaining the Master Production Schedule to maximize production efficiency and fulfill product shipment commitments while minimizing manufacturing costs. The Master Scheduler is also responsible for mid to long range forecasting of raw material and coordinating inventory levels in collaboration with distribution, warehouse, and inventory control functions to ensure sufficient availability of parts and material for manufacturing operations. This includes pulling customer sales data, validating EOP/SOPs through sales, ensuring accurate plant yield/productivity metrics are in place, uploading historical data, and maintaining accurate BOM on all parts.
Duties - Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Forecasting and Capacity Planning
- Facilitate the creation of 12-18 month rolling forecast for raw material using a combination of data analysis, statistical techniques, and market intelligence using customer EDI and sales forecast.
- Validate to ensure accuracy of primary sales forecast data source.
- Manufacturing Production Scheduling
- Prepare the master production schedule to provide for the most efficient use of employee skills and knowledge and manufacturing equipment while fulfilling product specifications and shipping commitments.
- Gather and analyze electronic data interchange (EDI) and customer orders to convert into master schedule based on cycle times, efficiency, pieces, direct labor, and finished goods inventory levels.
- Materials Management
- Process Supply/Demand and MRP related information and work with Materials Team to maximize production efficiency, ensure timely material releases, and fulfill product shipment commitments and deliveries to eliminate production delays.
- Coordinate supplier releases for all component suppliers to meet manufacturing schedules and customer demands.
- Inventory Control
- Plan and drive reduction in inventory with consideration to inputs such as bank builds, engineering changes, and product transfers.
- Develop and analyze reports to verify the accuracy and completeness of receiving and distribution information to properly track the use of inventories.
- Coordinate All Sourcing Activity for New or Existing Models and/or Services
- Select components, materials, parts, products, and/or services for purchase by ensuring they meet the 4Front Engineering specs.
- Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase or bid.
Qualification Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or relevant field. Emphasis on materials control, production control, or supply chain management is preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in inventory control, material control, production control, production scheduling, and/or purchasing, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- 1-2+ years of experience of scheduling in a manufacturing environment or similar work experience required.
- Experience using an integrated ERP solution in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams.
