Software Architect - Mountain

Software Architect – Mountain

Are you ready to shape the future of mountain access systems? At SKIDATA, innovation meets tradition—and our Summit team is at the heart of this journey. We’re looking for a Software Architect to accelerate the evolution of our mountain access solutions, tackling legacy systems and shaping new ways forward. If you’re driven by challenge, passionate about development, and eager to influence a key product’s future, this is your chance to step up and make an impact.

What You’ll Do

  • Take Technical Ownership: Define and continuously evolve the architecture roadmap for our Summit product – the foundation of mountain access systems.
  • Be a Change Agent: Guide a highly experienced and close-knit development team through a cultural and technical shift toward modern software practices.
  • Build Bridges: Improve collaboration, feedback, and shared accountability.
  • Document and Structure: Establish clear, reliable technical documentation - your structure will be the backbone of future development.
  • Provide Technical Guidance: Act as a senior expert by mentoring developers, sharing best practices, and ensuring alignment with SKIDATA’s architectural standards.
  • Stay Hands-On: Develop alongside the team when needed – this is not an ivory tower role.

What You Bring

  • A university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in software development, with at least 3 years in architecture or senior design roles.
  • Strong experience with Microsoft technologies (.NET / C#), SQL databases (ideally Microsoft SQL Server), and web technologies.
  • Solid understanding of modern software design principles (SOLID, modularization, maintainability).
  • Experience modernizing legacy systems and improving code testability.
  • Deep knowledge of software security best practices (e.g., encryption, authentication).
  • Agile mindset and hands-on experience with methods like Scrum or Kanban.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills – including mentoring and giving constructive feedback.
  • Fluency in English and at least B2-level proficiency in German are required.
  • A strategic thinker with a passion for high-quality software, ready to create real impact in a legacy-rich environment.

This is an opportunity to leave your mark. You’ll play a key role in building structure, coaching a strong team, and shaping the technical future of a core SKIDATA product.
