ASSA ABLOY, the global leader in access solutions, is looking for a Research & Development Director for ALCEA, a French designer of security solutions based in Villebon-sur-Yvette, France, created in 1995, which joined the ASSA ABLOY Global Solutions division in October 2022.
This division of the group aims to offer high-security products and services to critical infrastructures such as telecoms, energy, transport, industry, etc.

We are looking for a recognised leader to inspire and lead our R&D teams at the heart of our growth and innovation challenges.

 

What you will do as our R&D Director

You will be integrated into the Executive Committee and take strategic responsibility for R&D activities. Your key missions include:

  • Managing software development activities and supervising the R&D team, coaching both experienced and autonomous engineers
  • Driving the modernization of tools and processes across teams, ensuring smooth adoption and alignment
  • Ensuring the quality, security, and reliability of deliverables across software and hardware components
  • Defining and executing the long-term technical strategy, supporting product evolution towards global markets
  • Leading and supporting the evolution of products and teams, fostering collaboration and a culture of innovation

 

The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who:

  • Is an experienced technical leader with solid knowledge in electronics and software
  • Has a strategic vision with proven experience in managing R&D or technical organizations (software, electronics, access control)
  • Can inspire, unite, and lead teams effectively
  • Is fluent in French and English
  • Holds an engineering or master’s degree in software engineering/computer science, with several years of software development experience and experience introducing new tools and processes
