Production Planner, Core Fence Products

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Production Planner for our core fence products.  This position will be responsible for planning for material and preparing schedules for the manufacturing environment. Planners will be required to meet the needs of our internal and external customers. Planner will create the master schedule based on customer demand and forecast.

What you will be doing:

  • Produce and manage production schedules and work orders to ensure that production deadlines are met for shipments
  • Adjust schedules as needed based on production delays, equipment maintenance, raw material delays or changes in demand
  • Establish good working relationship with Production and Planning Supervisors   
  • on production status, potential delays, and any other issues affecting production
  • Communicate with procurement to ensure the timely availability of raw materials
  • Responsible for inventory management of stock, non-stock materials, and aging inventory
  • Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies in the production planning process and implement solutions to improve productivity, efficiency and reduce costs
  • Assemble facts and data to make an informed decision on balancing production work centers, production schedules, material availability/lead times along with customer requirements
  • Other duties as assigned

The skills and experience you need:

  • Bachelor’s degree Preferred – Preferably Supply Chain Management, Business, Accounting, or Engineering
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in production planning, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Comprehension of Material Requirements Planning (MRP) principles / (ERP) systems
  • Strong knowledge of production planning, scheduling, and inventory management
  • Ability to understand and determine workflow and capacity limitations
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills required
  • Problem-solving skills required
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and act with a sense of urgency
  • Strong Excel skills preferred
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills required
