CNC Router Operator (Aluminum Rails)
Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a CNC Router Operator (Aluminum Rails). The CNC Router Operator is responsible for machining aluminum rails to specification using CNC router equipment. This position requires accurate setup, safe operation, and quality control to meet production standards.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Set up, program, and operate CNC routers for aluminum rail machining.
- Load and secure raw aluminum stock on router tables or fixtures.
- Select, install, and adjust tooling appropriate for aluminum machining.
- Configure feeds, speeds, and lubrication systems to maintain quality and efficiency.
- Monitor machine operations and make real-time adjustments to ensure part accuracy.
- Inspect finished parts with precision measuring instruments and verify tolerances.
- Perform secondary tasks such as deburring, surface finishing, and edge clean-up.
- Record production data, part counts, and machine settings as required.
- Perform routine machine maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area.
- Follow all company safety procedures and policies, including handling of aluminum dust and coolant systems.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Minimum 1 year of CNC machining or CNC router experience (aluminum machining preferred).
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, CAD/CAM files, and work instructions.
- Knowledge of machining parameters for aluminum, including tooling and feed rates.
- Proficiency with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
Work Environment
- Fabrication shop with exposure to noise, metal dust, and machining lubricants.
- Requires use of PPE (safety shoes, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, etc.).
