Router Operator

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for an Router Operator.  This position will be using the CNC router equipment to perform work on aluminum material to match the drawings provided for each product work order.  

What you will be doing:

• Setup and run machine
• Route specific holes in various products per company specifications.
• Observe all proper safety procedures related to the router equipment

The skills and experience you need:

• High School education or equivalent.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Mastercam experience would be beneficial
• Familiar with basic operation of CNC type equipment
• Setup of 5 axis aluminum router machine
• Perform change overs to different profiles and routing equipment.
• Will have to acquire the ability of troubleshooting the machine during both setup and production runs.
• Ability to read a tape measure in increments of 1/16”.
• Can read and understand engineering drawings of various products.
• Must be familiar with small hand tools. (crescent wrenches, open end, hex key, ratchet/sockets, etc.)
• Capable of following instructions both written and oral.
• Required to work a 10 hour shift with some overtime up to 12 hours for an undetermined amount of time.
• Capable, after training, of determining what a quality product is and procedures for disposition of non-quality product.
• Able to troubleshoot material and dimension issues when necessary.
