Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Lead Production.  This position will support Powder Coating production by supervising processes equipment and personnel associated with Production in Powder Coating, and accounting for production and quality of production. Will be trained on days for two months before moving to a 3rd shift.

Education:

  • High school diploma or GED.

Experience:

  • Two - Three years of experience in a position of similar responsibility in manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product designs, safety, quality and workflow needs.

  • Strong documentation skills, reporting skills and computer skills.
  • Ability to think and react quickly to changing situations and adjust to changing priorities.
  • Ability to be a contributing and collaborative team member.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Maintain clean, safe, organized material storage areas.
  • Maintain equipment by planning and carrying out PM’s as prescribed by documented procedure and by creating documented procedure for PM’s wherever needed.
  • Produce product of exceptional quality by implementing QA approach to meeting company production objectives.
  • Provide leadership by example for all employees.
  • Coach and train employees in policy and procedure regarding safety, quality and productivity in that order of importance.
  • Plan and assign daily tasks geared toward meeting daily schedule and departmental goals to area employees.
  • (Inventory Management) Control scrap logs in thrive, and improve yearly inventory accuracy.
  • (Part Identification) All items are to be identified with correct part number or DNI.
  • Meet with and work with scheduling, Planning, Shipping, Supervisors, and inventory control daily to assess needs to support today and future production.
  • Plan and document daily schedule of activities geared towards schedule attainment for all direct reports working the below areas.
  • Turn in daily receiving accurately and on time.
  • Review materials needs daily and notify Supervisor of shortfalls in product and materials at least one day in advance of day’s production.
  • Actively participate in process improvement projects geared toward cost savings in labor and materials.
  • Organize and plan for loading situations and make requests for additional manpower where needed at least two hours prior to production.
  • Review performance and attendance of line employees and, Document performance and disciplinary actions.
