Controls Engineer

Ameristar Perimeter Security USA, an ASSA ABLOY branded company, is looking for a Controls Engineer to join our team in Tulsa, OK.  This position’s primary responsibility will be to design, develop, and oversee all aspects of machine integration with ERP and Industrial Automation software systems. Along with programing and diagnosing complex machinery such as routers, sheet & tube lasers, tube & roll form mills, and robotics.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must meet expectations of each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and abilities required.

Education:

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or automation industry.
• Mechanically and electrically inclined.
• Excellent communications skills and ability to work in cross functional teams
• Ability to utilize MS Office software at a high level

Experience:

• Experience programming Logic Controllers (PLC) (e.g. Allen-Bradley, Siemens).
• Configuring and designing HMI systems
• Ability to create and interpret electrical schematics.
• Familiar with various Motion Controllers (e.g. Fanuc, Yaskawa)
• Experience and skill in troubleshooting control system issues.
• Project management training or experience managing capital or automation system projects.
• Experience with SCADA collection systems and software systems.

• Ability to manage own projects. Ability to prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines.
• Must be organized, detail oriented, and able to think designs through completely.
• Pro-Active rather than reactive, positive mental attitude, and a team player.

Job Duties to include, but not limited to:

• Management of Capital Projects for new manufacturing automation equipment.
• Continual improvement and upgrade of existing legacy equipment.
• Troubleshoot issues with existing installations.
• Implementation of industrial controls projects, SCADA collection, and automated report making. 
• Develop PLC, HMI, and Motion Controller applications.
