Service Engineer

 

Job Description:

This Job Description is meant to give a significant idea of the position for interested persons and future position owners. 

Brief Summary of the position

To provide technical support, maintenance, and service to SKIDATA equipment and sites.  To install new equipment in the state. 

 

Key Responsibilities, Tasks and Activities

(in descending order of importance)

Administration – In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures and Company Policies, you must:

  • Ensure jobs are completed in Service Now on a timely basis
  • Complete installation and commission paperwork
  • Completion of warranty and repair spare parts paperwork
  • Submit purchase requests for local parts
  • Take responsibility for accurate record keeping of parts in your possession
  • Notify manager of any key developments
  • Respond to manager requests in a timely manner
  • Complete administrative tasks associated with After Hours and Call outs procedures


Installation – In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Industry Standards and Company Policies, you must:

  • Install and fit equipment
  • Take and maintain all appropriate gear to sites.
  • Commission equipment
  • Observe and monitor equipment functioning
  • Notify manager and recommend solutions in the event that you identify faults


Equipment Repairs and Maintenance – In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policies and Industry Standards you must:

  • Provide regular, accurate and timely equipment repairs and maintenance
  • Undertake preventative, routine and fault related maintenance at all sites as required
  • Ensure understanding and compliance with Company procedures.
  • Report on market intelligence or trends
  • Provide advice and recommendations on future equipment and inventory requirements
  • Accurate program changes.


OHS & Presentation – In accordance with Standard Operating Procedures, Company Policy and Industry Standards, you must

  • Present yourself in a clean, neat uniform, and prepared with the appropriate gear and tools at all times.  Long hair to be tied back and any facial hair to be kept tidy or clean shaven.
  • Clean and maintain your tools, equipment and vehicle to a very high standard
  • Maintain OHS practices and methods and report any hazards or issues promptly and with accurate information.
  • Provide recommendations on any potential OHS risks and exposure.

Qualifications and Experience

Education:

Qualification in a relevant discipline

Years of experience:

2-3 years

 

Skills and Knowledge (functional and methodical)

  • Electrical/Mechanical/Advanced Electronics qualification or be working towards one
  • Advanced computer literacy & computer programming skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Desire to develop skills and competency within the carpark access industry
  • Accurate ands disciplined data entry
