At Kinetron BV, we have long-term worldwide partnerships with market leaders in various segments including opening solutions, digital locks, access control, smart buildings, watches, wearables, sanitary products, irrigation, and gas water heaters.
Due to the expansion of our R&D department, we are seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Lead to join our team for 32-38 hours per week.
What you would do as Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Lead
As our Senior Mechanical Engineer/Technical Lead you will collaborate both independently and within teams on one or multiple projects. Your responsibilities include mechanical (conceptual) design and project management tasks. You will act as a technical lead for a small team of mechanical engineers, ensuring alignment, technical quality and effective collaboration within the team. You will report directly to the R&D Manager.
Responsibilities:
- Manage projects from initial client contact to product delivery, including product (conceptual) development and design, prototyping, testing, supplier coordination, parts sourcing, production line setup, and process development.
- Maintain communication with team members, clients, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
- Contribute to continuous improvement projects related to the development process, quality, efficiency, safety, and environmental initiatives.
- Support the commercial department.
- Provide day-to-day technical guidance and coaching to a small team of engineers, supporting their professional development and ensuring awareness of ongoing activities and priorities.
- Actively identify, assess and manage technical and project risks, using seniority and experience to anticipate issues and propose effective mitigation measures.
- Monitor and report project progress, technical status, risks and team capacity to the R&D Manager in a clear and structured manner.
The skills and experience you need
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Extensive experience in product development and design, preferably using SolidWorks

- Demonstrated ability to take a leading role within engineering teams, combining technical expertise with coaching and coordination skills.
- Proficiency in both Dutch and English, both written and spoken
- Must have own transportation within a reachable distance from Tilburg
You are a talented individual with an analytical and conceptual mindset. We’re looking for evidence that you are a result-oriented, problem solver by heart that sees solutions instead of problems, whilst a clear customer focus is essential in order to succeed.
You are comfortable taking ownership, providing direction and serving as a trusted technical sparring partner for both engineers and management.
Excellent team working skills are vital and you should enjoy collaborating with others - being prepared to both help and ask for help when needed.
What we can offer you
