Summary
Within the Software Engineering Department of the IAMS Business Unit, the successful candidate will join a team of approximately 15 members developing key components of an innovative cloud-based authentication platform.
The organization is structured around customer-centric squads combining human expertise and AI-enabled capabilities. The candidate will act as the Outcome Owner for one of these squads, driving the delivery of measurable customer value for a specific Job To Be Done (JTBD).
The Outcome Owner is one of three archetypes in every squad, alongside the Solution Architect/Builder and the Experience Crafter. Where the Builder owns how and the Crafter owns how it feels, the Outcome Owner owns what and why: the job, the evidence behind it, and the business outcome it must deliver. He/she is accountable for making sure the JTBD squad solves the right customer problem and can prove it did.
|
|
Essential Duties
- Own the job. Define and maintain the squad's JTBD cluster: who the customer is, what job they hire IAMS to do, and what "done well" looks like to them.
- Generate the evidence. Run continuous discovery — customer interviews, usage data, support signals, win/loss and competitive input — using AI to synthesize at a pace a human team could not.
- Frame the problem precisely. Turn evidence into sharp problem statements, success criteria and acceptance tests the Builder and Crafter can execute against, often directly with synthetic team members (AI agents etc.).
- Prioritize ruthlessly. Own the squad's backlog and say no to work that doesn't move the job forward, including requests from senior stakeholders.
- Tie work to business value. Hold the business case for the cluster — revenue, retention, cost-to-serve — and connect every release to it.
- Close the loop. Validate shipped outcomes against the success criteria and kill or pivot work that isn't landing.
- Represent the customer and the business. Act as the squad's single interface to sales, customer success, product line management and partners.
- Remove impediments. Identify and drive resolution of blockers that slow the squad's delivery of customer value — dependencies, decisions, access, stakeholder conflicts — escalating when they sit outside the squad's control.
|
|
Primary Duties
- Collaborate with the Solution Architect/Builder to align on problem framing and acceptance criteria upfront, balancing scope with feasibility, security, and cost throughout delivery, while leaving solution design to the Builder.
- Collaborate with the Experience Crafter to ensure design, content, and localization are grounded directly in customer evidence and the Job To Be Done (JTBD), rather than a requirements document.
- Delegate to Synthetic Team Members by providing clear, precise, and actionable problem statements, specifications, and acceptance criteria that enable autonomous execution and maximize squad throughput.
- Coordinates with other Outcome Owners on overlapping JTBD clusters to ensure a cohesive IAMS portfolio for customers.
