The ID Documents Engineering Manager will oversee engineering and innovation activities at the St Etienne Common Lab within the HID CID Business Area. This role involves planning and coordinating engineering projects, supervising multiple teams, and developing new products and security features. The manager will work closely with other HID functions, including Manufacturing Engineering, Product Management, and Intellectual Property teams, to ensure the successful implementation of new credentials and technologies.

As our Engineering Innovation Manager, you’ll support HID’s success by: 

• Manage and Lead: Overseeing the HID CID Common Lab in St Etienne and supervising students working on PPI projects at St Etienne University.
• Budget Management:  Identifying and pursuing funding opportunities, including grants and partnerships, to support research and development projects.
• Project Execution: Planning and executing strategies to complete projects on time.
• Research and Development: Developing designs and products, ensuring processes meet quality and safety compliance guidelines.
• Collaboration: Working with other team leaders and departments, and maintaining relationships with universities, suppliers, and customers.
• Innovation: Investigating new technologies and converting them into engineering and program deliverables.
• Documentation: Planning and documenting new developments according to CID ID Documents Engineering processes.
• Compliance: Ensuring all engineering activities comply with relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to quality, security, safety, business continuity, and environmental systems.
• Customer Support: Supporting pre-sales activities and customer projects when requested.
• Travel: Being prepared for international travel as required.

What we will love about your background: 

• Proficient in English, both verbal and written. Ability to read and interpret technical journals and standards.
• Proficient in MS Office applications and familiar with project management software like MS Project.

Your Experience and Education include:     

• PhD degree or equivalent with a minimum of 5 years of related experience. Experience in leading innovation projects and managing university relationships. 

Work Requirements:

• Compliance: Adhere to all relevant HID Global policies and procedures related to quality, security, safety, business continuity, and environmental systems.
• Travel: Must be able to travel internationally and possess or acquire a valid passport.
• Location Flexibility: Position could be located in Suresnes as the main office, with a mix of office (3 days) and home office (2 days) work accepted.
