What would you do as our Strategic Purchaser
As Strategic Purchaser, you will be responsible for indirect procurement at Nordic level, ensuring we source the goods and services we need from the right suppliers, at the right price and on the right terms. A key part of the role will be managing IT sourcing and procurement activities, including the sourcing of IT-related products, services, software, hardware, and technology solutions that support the business. You will own relationships with key suppliers and take full responsibility for selected purchasing categories, working closely with internal stakeholders and our EMEIA procurement team. Your work will have a direct impact on profitability, operational efficiency, and the smooth running of our business.
You will report to the to the Indirect Materials and Procurement Excellence Manager.
You would also:
- Assess, select and develop suppliers in line with local, EMEIA and ASSA ABLOY Group requirements, including supplier segmentation and risk management.
- Lead tendering processes and negotiations, and create, maintain and update supplier contracts.
- Follow up on supplier performance through KPIs and regular supplier meetings.
- Plan and implement procurement strategy for indirect categories, monitor prices and market changes, find new suppliers and deliver on targets for savings, supplier reduction and payment terms.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders, EMEIA Category Managers and other divisions, and step in for colleagues when needed.
The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a university degree in business, engineering or a related field; training or education in procurement or logistics is a strong advantage.
- Has solid experience in procurement, supplier cooperation and negotiations, ideally from a manufacturing environment with exposure to production and product development.
- Possesses good knowledge of sourcing, manufacturing and order-to-delivery processes, as well as an in-depth understanding of suppliers' cost structures.
- Has strong skills in MS Office, especially Excel and handling large data sets.
- Possesses knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001, 18001 and 27001 standards and how they apply to supplier decisions.
You are a confident negotiator with a strong commercial mindset, and you know how to influence and present your ideas to both suppliers and internal stakeholders. You are independent and structured, able to plan and prioritise your own work, and you take ownership of your decisions and the risks that come with them. Building good relationships comes naturally to you, and you enjoy working with people across functions, divisions and countries. As you will be working closely with international suppliers and colleagues across Europe, you are fluent in English and Swedish, both spoken and written.
