Embedded Application Developer

What you would do as our Embedded Application Developer


At ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions, our ARX is one of the market-leading innovative security systems in Scandinavia. You will play a key role in developing and maintaining a leading security system in alarm and access control based on high security and capacity, scalable and configurable infrastructure.


As a Product Developer, you will write maintainable code, perform testing, plan software tasks, write documentation, read code and investigate in an agile environment.


You will also:

  • Work with software development in an embedded Linux environment.
  • Oversee new feature development, enhance current functionalities, and maintenance of previous releases.
  • Support your team members and combine your creative minds to sort out problematic uncertainties pertaining to trouble-shooting reports and other anomalies in the code.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with various stakeholders and occasionally meet clients with live systems.


The skills and experience you need

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Proven hands-on development and troubleshooting on embedded targets in a Linux environment, system design, design documentation, and performing tests.
  • Solid programming experience with embedded systems using C in a Linux environment.
  • Skilled in reading code and understanding Linux libraries in C.
  • Experience with platforms such as Linux, JIRA/Confluence, and Gitlab.
  • Fluent in English and preferably possess some understanding of written Swedish as some documentation is in Swedish.

  • Python coding
  • C++
  • GIT
  • TCP/UDP protocol
  • Communication protocols
  • Design/write system specification
  • Big distributed systems
  • Comfortable in understanding make files.
  • Experience in reading/understanding large codebases
  • An understanding and interest in basic electronics, etc.
