Master thesis nr 3. Intuitive Human-Machine Interaction through Physical Design

Intuitive Human-Machine Interaction through Physical Design

This thesis aims to improve our Human-Machine Interaction (HMI) tool by focusing on intuitive physical design of smart products. Our tool aims to facilitate the evaluation of user interaction through research on early stages of new products development projects.

The candidate will analyse existing HMI systems possible solutions that could be tailormade for us and investigate how physical layout and product behaviour can be better designed, for successful physical interactions that more intuitive and seamless.

The work involves an evaluation and further development of our exiting tool, with an emphasis on reducing cognitive load and improving user experience. This is an ideal opportunity for candidates with an engineering background in electronics and software design who are passionate about physical interaction design and enhancing user-product interaction.

Key Objectives:

  • Analyse and evaluate current HMI design tool and how it is aimed to be used

  • Contribute to a further development of our tool

  • Test prototypes to validate ease of use and user comprehension. The users of our tool are mainly engineers involved in new product development projects.

We look forward to receiving your application with your resumé and university grades and hearing your ideas on how you would approach this subject!
