Master thesis nr 2. Designing Accessible Physical Products for Inclusive Use

This master thesis focuses on exploring the principles of accessibility in product design in security products, with the aim of developing physical product guidelines, that can be easily adopted by our designers, when developing products that are inclusive - enabling a broad spectrum of individuals, regardless of age, ability, or disability.

The candidate will investigate current accessibility standards and user-centric design approaches and contribute to guidelines tailormade for mechanical and electromechanical products. Those guidelines will inspire and increase the know-how of our designers, leading to future creative and innovative solutions with enhanced usability. The scope will cover people with physical, cognitive, and sensory impairments.

The work will involve a great portion of research and to some extend, designing and testing generic prototypes with diverse user groups, to validate inclusivity in the recommended design principles.

Applicants with suitable engineering background towards product development and a passion for human-centric design, are encouraged to apply and join our Global Product Design team on this exciting journey.

Key Objectives:

  • Research accessibility standards and design principles for ergonomics and inclusion

  • Design and prototype physical solutions on a high-level state, for enhanced accessibility

  • Conduct usability testing together with our global design team, including diverse users to iterate on design principles.

We look forward to receiving your application and hearing your ideas on how you would approach this subject!
