Master Thesis Nr 3 - Securing the Future of Agentic AI
As AI agents increasingly act on behalf of people, a new security challenge is emerging: How can organizations trust what an AI agent is allowed to do, who authorized it, and whether its actions reflect the intentions of the person behind it? For this Master’s thesis, we are looking for a curious and business-minded student to join HID’s Authentication business and explore this emerging space at the intersection of AI, cyber security (IAM) and product innovation.
Rather than starting with a predefined solution, you will investigate the problem from the outside in. You will explore emerging technologies and market approaches, engage with potential customers and stakeholders, and help uncover where the most important unmet needs and opportunities exist.
Your work could include:
• Exploring how AI agents are changing authentication, authorization and digital trust
• Investigating emerging security challenges around agents acting on behalf of people
• Conducting customer and market research to understand needs, use cases and willingness to pay
• Mapping relevant technologies, approaches and market developments
• Identifying and evaluating potential opportunities for new authentication capabilities
• Translating your findings into recommendations and potentially a product concept
We think you’ll be a great fit if you:
• Are studying Industrial Engineering & Management, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Business & Technology, or a related Master’s program
• Have a genuine interest in cybersecurity
• Understand the fundamentals of AI and agentic AI and are curious about how these technologies will a ect businesses
• Enjoy combining technology, customer needs and business thinking
• Are analytical, curious and comfortable exploring a problem where the answer is not known in advance
• Enjoy speaking with people, testing assumptions and turning complex findings into clear recommendations
We look forward to your application!
Please include your CV, university transcripts, resumé and a short description of how you would approach this thesis topic.
