What would you do as our Commercial Product Manager - Hardware

To support the growth of our product portfolio, both through organic and acquisitive expansion, we are looking to expand the Product Management team with someone who is focused on the commercial customer relationship.  In this role you will drive the sales of the product within business through increasing knowledge, awareness and customer relevance. You will also create and implement a multi-generational product plan with product offering, pricing/margins, channel differentiation, and positioning that delivers competitive advantage and drives profitable growth. Your role will also involve driving improvements in sales within the specific product category.

 
You would also:  

•    Capture “voice of customer” feedback from, customers, and key influencers, and translate into strategy for product positioning, pricing, communication, and innovation
•    Continually assess product / market opportunities / gaps that can be used to drive development plans to increase the opportunities for sales growth
•    Colaborate with internal stakeholders such as Product Managers and Business Partners and regional Teams
•    Be engaged in product price setting, using appropriate tools and methods, owning the annual price increase and acting as business owner from a pricing standpoint for all systems and tools (for example ERP, CRM, BI), representing the business area, ensuring documented price governance processes exists across all sales channels
•    Base NPI (New Product Introduction) decisions on factual and realistic revenue assumptions and let price and positioning considerations guide the product specification 

 
The skills and experience you need   
We are looking for someone who:     
•    Has  several years of hands-on experience in a previous sales roles 
•    Has excellent English communication skills, written and verbal
•    Is able to communicate with various stakeholders at all levels 
•    Is available to travel globally,  up to 40% of the working time 
 
To succeed in this role, you need to have the ability to understand and capture customer market problems and translate them into market requirements for product development whilst also having a solid commercial background.  You are analytical and are able to understand where the focus needs to be to increase market position and drive sales of our product portfolio.
