IT Support Administrator

Are you an experienced IT professional with a passion for solving technical challenges and supporting users across multiple locations? Join ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems in Rotherham, and become part of our European IT Operations team, helping to ensure the reliable delivery of IT services and infrastructure across the UK and Ireland.

This is a hands-on role combining user support, systems administration, and infrastructure management. You'll work closely with local teams, field engineers, European IT colleagues, and external suppliers to maintain and improve business-critical IT services.

Please note that this role requires occasional travel across the UK and Ireland.

What you would do as our IT Support Administrator?

Reporting to the Manager IT Operations Germany, Benelux & UK, you will support multiple ASSA ABLOY Entrance Systems locations across the UK and Ireland while contributing to the wider European IT Operations function.

You would also be responsible for:

• Providing 1st and 2nd line IT support to office-based users and field engineers, while also taking operational responsibility for local IT infrastructure, systems and services, ensuring timely resolution of incidents and service requests.

• Managing and maintaining local IT infrastructure, including Active Directory, Entra ID, Windows environments, backup solutions and system monitoring activities.

• Troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, network and server-related issues, while supporting centrally managed infrastructure across multiple locations and coordinating with central IT teams when escalation is required.

• Supporting and delivering local IT infrastructure projects, including hardware refresh initiatives, software implementations and continuous improvement activities.

• Collaborating closely with the wider European IT Operations organisation, maintaining system documentation and supplier relationships, providing backup support to colleagues and other locations when required, and supporting critical IT incidents or planned infrastructure activities outside normal working hours.

The skills and experience you need
We are looking for someone who:

• Has experience providing 1st and 2nd line IT support within a corporate environment, with strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Has good knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory, Entra ID, Server environments, networking fundamentals and Microsoft 365 technologies including Teams and Intune.

• Has experience working with Service Desk tools and is familiar with ITIL principles, particularly incident, problem and request management.

• Has a solid understanding of networking fundamentals and is comfortable supporting centrally managed infrastructure across multiple sites.

• Is self-driven and comfortable taking ownership of operational issues, prioritising work effectively, keeping stakeholders informed of progress, and communicating clearly with users, colleagues, management and suppliers while working both independently and as part of an international team.

The following experience would be beneficial but is not essential:

• VMware administration.

• Veeam Backup solutions.

• Microsoft Exchange environments.

• Supporting infrastructure projects and hardware lifecycle management.
