Logistics Driver

The position will report directly to the Head of Installation and is a field based role working in both a team of drivers/engineers and working alone.

 

Main responsibilities and tasks

Installation –

  • Nationwide travel in HGV and LGV fleet transport, to serve our customers across the commercial construction industry.
  • Attendance and completion of installation equipment deliveries, including manual handling and hiab lorry loader lifting operations.
  • Attendance and completion of installation equipment decommissions & collections, including manual handling and hiab lorry loader lifting operations.
  • Assisting Installation engineers with assembly of Turnstile Access control and Fire equipment.
  • Liaising with operations and fleet management for maintaining allocated vehicle and lifting equipment.
  • Managing daily delivery workload including offloading and loading of allocated order equipment.
  • Maintaining exemplary standards to build rapport with customers
  • Adherence to health, safety & environmental regulations and company policies
  • Maintaining and securing company tools and equipment.
  • Completion of safety checks, timesheets, TACO and job completion documentation to a high standard

Key working relationships (internal and external)

 

  • Reporting to Logistics Supervisor and Head of Installation
  • Liaising with customers on site and other trades to ensure deliveries and collections take place as planned, to a high standard.
  • Liaising with internal fleet and production managers on a daily basis.
  • Working alongside Installation engineers collaboratively to achieve job completion.
  • Liaising with internal operational admin team in a timely manner

 

 

Person Profile: Essential qualifications, experience, knowledge, and behaviours

 

  • Valid Class C Drivers Licence required
  • ALLMI Hiab Hook Lorry Loader or CPCS Lorry loader
  • Well organised and punctual
  • Excellent Communication skills both verbal and written
  • Good problem solver
  • Ability to work on own initiative
  • Ethical and trustworthy
  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times
  • 3 years’ experience in security service/installation of access control or similar SELV cabling role

 

 

Desirable

 

  • ALLMI or CPCS slinger/signaller
  • RTITB Forklift Trained
  • Construction industry knowledge
  • Fleet logistics operational knowledge
  • Working at height trained (inc harness)
  • Safe use of ladders
