What you would do as our Shipping Consultant:
You would be responsible for performing department tasks accurately and following established routines. This includes ensuring that orders are prepared for dispatch, undergo thorough quality checks, and are processed efficiently. You will also maintain regular communication with carriers and customers. Additionally, you will provide exceptional customer service by promptly and accurately addressing inquiries through proactive communication with customers.
You would also:

  • Respond to price inquiries regarding shipments and conduct quality checks on prices.
  • Report any deficiencies or deviations in shipping programs, price lists from carriers, and the ERP system.
  • Verify lead times and capacity with carriers and book shipments according to customer preferences. You would also ensure that customers receive invoices on the same day as goods are invoiced.
  • Collaborate with team members, consult with other departments, and follow up on customer service matters.
  • Manage the joint shipping inbox, organize packing slips, monitor open orders ready for dispatch and update consignment numbers in our ERP system daily.
  • Complete necessary documents for shipments, including customs declarations if required, and arranging return shipments.

 


The skills and experience you need:
We are looking for someone who:

  • Has a high school diploma and has completion of Incoterms certificate.
  • Has a customer-centric mindset and ability to acquire knowledge of Terms & Conditions and has a good understanding of geography.
  • Has high proficiency in English language; knowledge of foreign languages is considered an asset.
  • Has competence in using tools, systems, and solutions utilized in the department, including various data tools. 
  • Is structured, solution-oriented, proactive, and able to take initiative, as well as work independently.
  • Has also a positive attitude and is a strong team player.

Ideally you would have education in logistics/shipping and experience in customer service/shipping.
