We are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Specialist with a specialized focus on managing all aspects of backlog operations within our production and supply chain systems.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring seamless connectivity between upstream production planning, material handling, and work order management processes. This role will play a pivotal part in maintaining workflow efficiency, prioritizing work orders, and resolving any backlog-related issues while coordinating closely with multiple teams.

As our Production Specialist you’ll support HID’s success by:
- Backlog Management & Work Order Prioritization:
- Lead the management and prioritization of backlogged work orders (W/O), ensuring that critical tasks are addressed in a timely and efficient manner.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that W/O prioritization aligns with production goals and deadlines.
- Work Order Assignment & Material Handling:
- Coordinate with the Production Control Specialist to plan, forecast, and allocate materials based on backlog requirements.
- Ensure proper distribution and handling of materials required for the completion of backlogged work orders.
- Material Allocations & Distribution:
- Oversee the timely and accurate allocation of materials to support production schedules and minimize disruptions caused by material shortages.
- Monitor material availability and proactively work with inventory management to resolve material-related issues.
- Move Order Submissions:
- Submit move orders as needed to support efficient production flow and assist in mitigating backlog issues.
- Work with relevant departments to ensure move orders are processed quickly and accurately.
- Work Order Troubleshooting:
- Identify and resolve issues related to work order assignments, ensuring that any obstacles hindering production progress are promptly addressed.
- Troubleshoot issues related to equipment or work order requirements, ensuring minimal downtime.
- Upstream Coordination with Production Control:
- Establish and maintain strong communication with the Production Control Specialist to synchronize planning, forecasting, and material allocations, ensuring a smooth production process despite any backlog challenges.
- Special Projects:
- Lead any special project initiatives within the value stream.
Education/ or Experience
- Minimum of [3-5] years in a similar role, preferably within production, operations, or supply chain management.
- Proven experience in backlog management, work order prioritization, and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with material handling, distribution processes, and forecasting techniques.
- This role is a fully on Site role Monday to Friday.
