HID is seeking an energetic, innovative individual to join the Operations team at our Shannon Operation Centre, combining the leadership of a Production Lead with the technical expertise of a Manufacturing Engineering Technician.
This role supports order fulfilment and postponement activities while delivering technical expertise to production. The ideal candidate will have strong lean manufacturing knowledge, hands-on experience in continuous improvement, and a collaborative mindset to drive operational excellence across Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned
- Adhere to all SOPs and work instructions relevant to the role.
- Ensure all Machine Operators have the correct materials and paperwork to perform their tasks accurately.
- Verify BOMs, programming requirements, product types, artwork, and markings.
- Act as subject matter expert for all operational processes and procedures.
- Leading machine repairs, including diagnosing through effective root cause analysis and implementing containment and corrective actions where appropriate.
- Setup and operate a variety of automatic and semi-automatic machines.
- Conduct manual production operations as required.
- Perform daily 5S and preventive maintenance of equipment and surrounding areas.
- Be the point of contact between production and support areas to resolve day-to-day operational issues.
- Understand daily workload and define shift hours based on demand.
- Ensure Operations processes are executed correctly to meet daily delivery and efficiency targets.
- Take a prominent role in new capital equipment acceptance to support capacity improvements or new product launches.
- Train employees on work instructions, new products, and processes.
- Interpret and communicate production work instructions effectively to individuals and teams.
- Participate in and lead continuous improvement initiatives.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and communicating performance enhancement opportunities.
- Taking responsibility for process controls and use appropriate documentation to reflect any changes or improvements as well as training them out to the team.
- Participate in root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action activities.
- Be accountable to performance standards that support KPIs in Safety, Quality, Delivery, and Cost.Proactively log and escalate potential issues to minimise safety, quality, delivery, or operational inefficiencies.

- Highly organized and able to manage multiple priorities (both important and urgent), escalating any conflicts clearly and quickly.
Education and /Or Experience
- Preferred BSc in an Engineering discipline or equivalent is desirable.
- Must have minimum 2 years of experience as Manufacturing Engineering Technician in production environment.
- Minimum 3 years experience in a production environment is required.
- Background of electrical, electronic, or mechanical production machinery is essential.
- Experience in lean methodology is required, inc. process mapping, 5S etc.
Work Requirements
- Must be legally eligible to work in Ireland.
- Travel and fieldwork including international travel may be required; therefore, employee must possess or can acquire a valid passport.
