This entry-level position is perfect for recent college graduates or those with foundational experience already working in accounting. As a Junior Accountant, you'll play a crucial role in processing daily financial transactions, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing ad hoc financial reports, and assisting with month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing processes. Essential Functions: 

  • Supporting the monthly and quarterly financial reporting cycle, ensuring it is completed in a timely, accurate and efficient manner in accordance with GAAP and ASSA ABLOY Accounting Guidelines. 
  • Preparing, analyzing and posting journals.
  • Calculating, posting, and analyzing monthly accruals and prepayments.
  • Preparing and analyzing balance sheet reconciliations monthly.
  • Reviewing and reconciling all inter-company accounts, involving communication with other ASSA ABLOY companies. 
  • Preparing variance analysis.
  • Assisting with or leading other ad hoc projects as required.
  • Supporting internal and external audits.
  • Providing input and assisting with implementation of new and existing processes and systems to ensure efficient delivery of value-add information to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Being an effective team player who will drive efficiency and continuous improvement throughout the department.
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies and procedures
  • Expected Office Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:00AM to 5:00PM.  Evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications For Success: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration with an emphasis in accounting (Required)
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles.
  • Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Ability to independently think and take action based on stated policies and/or accounting principles
  • Ambition, energy, and drive to continuously improve processes
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
