Electrical Engineer - New Product Development

Position Summary:  Provide design development of printed circuit board assemblies, firmware development, and be the liaison with supply chain and production personnel.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Create electrical component and system level designs (schematic and layout)
  • Develop embedded code for microcontrollers
  • Create bills of materials
  • Create technical documentation
  • Create test plans and perform testing to validate electrical designs
  • Integration of PCBA designs and embedded code into supply chain 
  • Successfully transition new products from concept to production through support, training, and cross departmental communications
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BSEE required
  2. 3-5 years experience in circuit board design & fabrication 
  3. 3-5 years experience in embedded code development
  4. Knowledge of altium design tools, Microchip, Atmel, and ARM microcontrollers
  5. Knowledge in C programming language
  6. A working knowledge of TCP/IP and Ethernet protocols desired
  7. Skill in developing and designing printed circuit board assemblies
  8. Excellent verbal and written communication skills

 

Physical Requirements:

  1. Able to walk up/down stairs
  2. Lift up to 50 pounds
  3. Ability to remain seated for long periods of time while working on a computer or documentation, etc.
  4. Must have manual dexterity to operate computer keyboard and standard office equipment.
  5. Must be capable of withstanding long period of viewing data on a computer screen and/or in paper format.
  6. Ability to interact with a diversity of people and diverse levels of personnel.
  7. Normal, corrective vision range; ability to see color and to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.
  8. Frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, bend and reach.
  9. Ability to reach with hands and arms.
