Role summary:
As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure, ensuring the seamless integration of software development tools, and maintaining the security and reliability of the Athos product. You will be responsible for overseeing all cloud assets, including AWS, Kubernetes clusters, and CI/CD pipelines. Your expertise will be critical in accelerating development processes, increasing system security, and optimizing cloud costs. This role requires leadership skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving, ensuring the Athos project remains secure, efficient, and at the forefront of technological innovation.
KEY Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize cloud infrastructure, including AWS and other cloud assets, ensuring efficient operation and cost-effectiveness.
- Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines, ensuring smooth and continuous integration and deployment of software.
- Oversee integrations between software development tools (e.g., GitLab, Jira) to enhance team collaboration and efficiency.
- Implement and manage monitoring tools (e.g., Datadog, Cloudwatch) to ensure the reliability and performance of the Athos project.
- Administer Kubernetes clusters, ensuring scalability, reliability, and security of containerized applications.
- Ensure the security of all cloud assets and participate in the Security Champion Forum to uphold best practices in web security.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software developers and security experts, to optimize the development process and address technical challenges.
- Drive continuous improvement in development practices, focusing on automation, monitoring, and security.

- Collaborate with software developers to integrate and optimize development tools and processes.
- Work closely with the Security Champion Forum to ensure compliance with security standards and best practices.
- Engage with IT operations teams to manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and ensure seamless integration with existing systems.
- Interface with external vendors and service providers to stay updated on the latest cloud technologies and best practices.

- Regular interaction with software development teams to support and enhance development processes.
- Collaboration with security experts and forums to maintain high security standards.
- Interaction with external vendors and technology partners for cloud services and tools.
Key competencies, Relevant Knowledge, skills and competEncie:
- Deep expertise in cloud infrastructure management, particularly AWS.
- Proficiency in managing and deploying Kubernetes clusters.
- Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and associated tools.
- Experience with monitoring tools like Datadog and Cloudwatch.
- Strong knowledge of AWS CDK and AWS Lambda.
- Expertise in web security best practices and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
Requirements:
· Minimum of 7 years of experience in DevOps or a similar role, with a focus on cloud infrastructure and automation.
· Proven experience with AWS, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, and web security.
· Experience with monitoring tools such as Datadog or similar.
Education:
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering or a related field.
Languages:
Proficiency in English and Brazilian Portuguese, both written and verbal.
Computer skills:
- Proficiency in cloud management tools and platforms (e.g., AWS, Kubernetes).
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab CI).
- Knowledge of scripting and automation tools (e.g., Python, Bash).
Other Experience:
- Senior DevOps Engineer or equivalent position.
- Extensive experience in cloud infrastructure management and automation.
- Experience in securing cloud environments and infrastructure.
- Minimum 7 years experience.
Personal qualities:
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to mentor and guide junior engineers.

Expected outcome and deliverables:
Over a 3-5 year horizon, the Senior DevOps Engineer will have significantly accelerated the development processes of the Athos project by removing infrastructure bottlenecks, enhanced the security and reliability of the system, and optimized cloud costs. They will have played a key role in maturing the development processes, ensuring that the Athos project remains secure, efficient, and at the cutting edge of technology. The outcomes of their work will be reflected in the project’s accelerated timelines, reduced costs, and enhanced system security, contributing to the project's overall success.
Vingcard Athos Team
The Vingcard Athos team, based in Brasília, Brazil, specializes in developing innovative solutions for the Build-to-Rent market, catering to both long and short-term rentals of furnished apartments. As a small and dynamic team, we manage the entire solution, including IoT devices, backend, frontend, and mobile applications.
We operate on a hybrid work model, with three days in the office and two days working from home. While our primary language of communication is Portuguese, all our code and documentation are in English, and meetings involving other teams are conducted in English.
